CityBox Index Launches TechTalk Gulf Coast: Where Innovation Meets Leadership

CityBox Index launched its inaugural TechTalk Gulf Coast as an intimate leadership gathering designed to make emerging technology more understandable, practical and relevant to today’s business community.

Hosted by Michele Carlton, Owner of PJ’s Coffee, and moderated by Maryan Aiken, Founder and CEO of CityBox Index, the private gathering brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs and technology professionals for an evening centered on four areas increasingly shaping the way organizations operate, compete and grow: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, wireless technology and custom application development.

Rather than focusing on technology for technology’s sake, TechTalk explored how business leaders can better understand these tools, ask stronger questions and make more informed decisions about how technology fits within their organizations.

Sherri Babylon, Founder of BluVi and Moirai Systems, led the conversation around artificial intelligence, examining how AI is moving from an emerging concept into a practical business resource. Her presentation explored opportunities for organizations to use AI to improve productivity, streamline operations, strengthen communication and support smarter decision-making.

Dave Nelson, Partner and Business Development Manager at Cyclone 365, addressed cybersecurity and the increasingly important responsibility organizations have to protect their systems, information and operations in a highly connected business environment. His discussion reinforced that cybersecurity is no longer simply an IT issue—it is a leadership and business-continuity issue.

Joshua Turner of Old Crows Wireless Solutions introduced attendees to the world of wireless and RF technology, providing perspective on the infrastructure and connectivity operating behind many of the technologies businesses depend upon every day.

Houston George, Founder and CEO of MadApps LLC, completed the technology conversation with a look at custom application development and how businesses can use purpose-built digital tools to solve operational challenges, improve customer experiences and create more efficient ways of working.

Throughout the evening, the presentations were complemented by questions and discussion from attendees—an important part of the CityBox TechTalk format. The objective was not simply to listen to presentations, but to create meaningful conversations between technology experts and the business leaders who are ultimately responsible for deciding how innovation is implemented.

The gathering also reflected the broader mission of CityBox Index: connecting accomplished leaders across industries, documenting their expertise and creating environments where relationship capital, knowledge and new opportunities can develop.

Special appreciation goes to Michele Carlton, Don Carlton, Ryan and the entire PJ’s Coffee team for their hospitality and support in helping create an inviting environment for the inaugural gathering.

CityBox Index also extends its appreciation to every guest and business leader who participated, asked questions and supported the vision for TechTalk Gulf Coast.

TechTalk is part of CityBox Index’s expanding national in-depth presentation series—bringing subject-matter experts and executive leaders together around the ideas, technologies and industries influencing the future of business.

For CityBox Index, the goal extends beyond producing events.

It is about building a leadership ecosystem where expertise is discovered, documented, connected and shared—and where meaningful conversations have the opportunity to become meaningful relationships.
